SkateCourt Technical Information

Ice Court Specifications

Since the beginning of the sport, skaters have been using hard wheels. But hard wheels slip on hard floors; therefore a soft urethane coating was invented. The inline boom created sophisticated wheel material compounds, which are slightly softer but very strong and fast, and adhere well to our floor. Our new Roller Sport surface is the first floor ever designed with specific features for skating:

  1. Small, 10x10’’ tiles with five injection points - maintaining flatness throughout life
  2. Precise tile connections, virtually seamless – looks like a sheet of ice
  3. Small slits dampen the drum effect of a solid top, eliminating excessive roller noise
  4. Open suspension structure underneath the tiles enables spilt fluids to disperse
  5. Small surface slits dampen the box-drum noise effect, the floor is very quiet
  6. Small slits allow spilt fluids and cleaning fluids to evaporate quickly. Fluids will always find their way below the tiles, especially during cleaning. If these fluids cannot disperse or evaporate, they will cause rot and odor
